Akshita is a passionate and dedicated individual who is currently serving as the Head of the HerHygiene project at KCS Foundation. She is a first-year student of Bio Engineering & Biomedical Engineering at the prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA and her educational background equips her with unique skills and knowledge to approach the field of menstrual health and hygiene from a fresh perspective.
During her time at Georgia Tech, Akshita was selected to work as an undergraduate researcher in the Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, which provided her with invaluable research experience and the ability to analyze complex data. Her strong educational background and research experience have equipped her with the skills necessary to lead the HerHygiene project and make a meaningful impact.
Akshita strongly believes that access to hygienic menstrual products is a basic right for every menstruator, and this conviction drives her to work tirelessly towards ensuring that young girls in government schools have access to free sanitary pads. She leads a team of dedicated volunteers to carry out monthly distribution drives, reaching out to those who need it the most.
